1. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To provide an effective day to day servicemaintenance and repair of contract plant and machinery. Working autonomously whilst managing and prioritising your workload; you will be responsible for the high-qualityoutput of services in line with manufacturer and legislative specifications. To ensure all activities are undertaken in full accordance with prevailing Health & Safety guidelines. The fitter will also be required to carry out machinery-specific inductions for fellow colleagues to ensure competence.
2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Customer/Client Care
- To create a positive impression with our customers and work to exceed their expectations
- Presenting a polite and responsible attitude at all times
- To make yourself available to attend contract meetings as and when required
- Accurately report faults and plant & machinery issues to line manager
Administration
- Assist line manager to maintain machineryasset registerand assigning new equipment with Company asset numbers as required
- To maintain accurate machinery service and repair recordsfor audit
- To be responsible for raising orders and procuring cost effective solutions within the budgeted guidelines
- Programa routine maintenance program for machines and to follow accordingly
Corporate Image
- To promote and wear the correct corporate clothing
- Ensuring that workforce areas are professionally presented, cleaned and kept clean and tidy
- To understand what the services of the company and promote wherever possible

Planning and Organisation
- To be efficient and organised, working to company systems, e.g. timesheets, works control tick sheets, etc to ensure that contractual performance obligations are met
Health and Safety
- To ensure all maintenanceis undertaken in full accordance with prevailing Health & Safety guidelines and to manufacturers specifications
- Help to promote a high level of Health & Safety awareness across the contract
- Ensure work area is compliant with all Health & Safety regulations and follow Company standards/procedures
- To elevate any safety related operator issues to management with specific recommendations
- To carry-out routine site audits
- To read, understand and work to the company’s Health & Safety Policy and use correct PPE: high-viz vest, ear defenders, gloves etc. at all times
- To ensure that any plant/equipment is used safely and only after suitable training has been given
- A requirement of this role may be to travel to other company contracts in order to carry out further machinery inductions
- To understand and work to risk assessments and COSHH assessments and to report accidents and near misses as and when required
Company Systems
- To be efficient and organised, working to company systems: e.g. job tick sheets, time sheets, weekly vehicle inspection sheets
- To keep accurate records of the works completed by your team and report back to your line manager /Supervisor

- To be suitably trained/qualified for all work tasks undertaken, taking training opportunities where relevant and suggesting of courses that may be beneficial to you and your team
- To make yourself available to attend training courses set up by senior management that could enhance the service we deliver to the client

- To inform line manager of any abuse to plant and machinery that has taken place

- To understand the correct machinery items for the job and to understand the maintenance requirements of machinery
- Ensure appropriate checks and records are kept
