Job summary

GAP Group Limited is hiring a Plant Mechanic to service and maintain equipment across our fleet, including diggers, dumpers, and hand tools. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and keep accurate service records to ensure safety and reliability.

The role involves both depot duties and occasional on-site work at customer locations, with a focus on keeping equipment hire-ready and minimising downtime for clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a plant mechanic/fitter with transferable skills welcome
• Proven experience in a mechanical role; training provided for plant hire industry
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
• Customer-focused approach and teamwork
• Full, valid driving licence preferred but not essential

About You

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience as a plant mechanic/fitter, with a relevant qualification or time-served background in an industry with transferable skills is welcomed
• Proven experience working in a mechanical role - candidates out with the plant hire industry are welcomed as full training will be provided!
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure
• A customer-focused approach workload and committed team player
• A full, valid driving licence is preferred but not essential
