Job summary

Siemens Energy in the United Kingdom is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join a motivated manufacturing team responsible for fitting and finishing turbine blades and vanes. You will work to detailed engineering instructions and quality standards, ensuring products are manufactured safely and with high precision.

The role requires hands-on fitting skills, a strong eye for detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement, safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Completed Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in Mechanical/Bench Fitting.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with precision measuring and gauging techniques.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical fitting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical and bench fitting on turbine blades and vanes to specs.
• Follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and layouts.
• Use hand tools, pneumatic power tools, and deburring equipment safely.
• Deliver high-quality workmanship while meeting production schedules.
• Inspect components using first-principle gauging to verify conformance to specification.
• Ensure products meet quality requirements before progressing to the next stage.

Join us as a Mechanical Fitter, where you will become part of a highly motivated manufacturing team responsible for the fitting and finishing of turbine components, including blades and vanes. Working to detailed engineering instructions and quality standards, you will play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of precision. This role requires excellent mechanical fitting skills, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Carry out mechanical and bench fitting operations on turbine blades and vanes to company and customer specifications.
• Follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and fitting layouts accurately.
• Use hand tools, pneumatic power tools, and rotary deburring equipment safely and effectively.
• Deliver high-quality workmanship while meeting production schedules and operational targets.
• Inspect components using first-principle gauging techniques to verify conformance to specification.
• Ensure products meet quality requirements before progressing to the next stage of the manufacturing process.

What You Bring

• Completed Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering qualification.
• Proven experience in Mechanical or Bench Fitting within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with precision measuring and gauging techniques.
