Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd. is seeking a Fitter for Wolverhampton to assemble components to engineering drawings and perform precision mechanical fitting in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The role requires experience with hand tools and measuring equipment, ability to read drawings, and attention to quality. Long-term, stable work with opportunities to work on aerospace and commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a fitter or mechanical fitter in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical assembly and fitting skills.
• Experience using hand tools, measuring equipment and related manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience in aerospace/defence/automotive/rail or precision engineering is advantageous.

Pay Rates

• Day Shift: £21.93 per hour PAYE
• Rotational Shift: Up to £25.22 per hour PAYE (No Nights)
• Overtime: Available at enhanced rates
• Umbrella Rates Available: Up to £33.00 per hour
• Competitive PAYE and Umbrella payment options available

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble light alloy and non-light alloy components to engineering drawings.
• Carry out mechanical fitting and assembly work to a high standard.
• Prepare components and assemblies for welding and production teams.
• Work efficiently within a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality standards.
• Use hand tools, measuring equipment, and assembly tools to produce precision-engineered components.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Assembly Fitter, or similar manufacturing role.
• Strong mechanical assembly and fitting skills.
• Experience using hand tools, measuring equipment, and associated manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working within aerospace, defence, automotive, rail, or other precision engineering environments would be advantageous.
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent) preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
