Job description

GLL is seeking a Fitness Manager based at Walthamstow Stadium.

If you have passion, talent, and ambition to become a Fitness Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for career progression. This role involves supporting the smooth operation of a busy fitness centre, ensuring the health, safety, and enjoyment of customers and colleagues.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, a quick learner, and committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences. Previous experience in the fitness industry is highly desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for building relationships with customers, colleagues, and contractors.

You should hold at least a Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification, as you'll need to teach classes at the centre. A First Aid at Work qualification is also desirable.

Fitness Managers are quick thinkers, calm under pressure, responsible, and personable. This role offers a chance to advance your career in the fitness industry.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining a positive image of the centre by providing welcoming, helpful, and professional service.
  2. Assisting customers with facility use and encouraging maximum engagement.
  3. Preparing areas and equipment for sessions.
  4. Managing daily operations and ensuring security, cleanliness, supervision, and equipment checks are maintained.
  5. Promoting good housekeeping, energy conservation, and resource management.
  6. Supervising staff on shift, allocating work effectively, and performing other duties as required.
  7. Managing people procedures such as recruitment, absence reporting, qualifications, appraisals, and discipline.
