Qualifications

Permanent Part time, 16 hours per week across 2 days (flexibility needed to cover shifts between 07:00-20:00) and 1 in every 4 weekends (09:00-17:00)

Our fitness instructors play a crucial role at our retirement village by promoting health, wellness, and an active lifestyle among our residents. They design and lead engaging exercise programs tailored to the needs and abilities of seniors, helping to improve their physical fitness, mobility, and overall well-being. You’ll help us make health happen by:

• Assisting members in setting and achieving their fitness goals, offering advice and encouragement during their visits
• Ensuring awareness of each member’s health status prior to appointments and updating records as necessary
• Providing sufficient instruction to Wellness Spa users to ensure safe exercise
• Supporting membership retention by encouraging participation and creating a fun, helpful atmosphere
• Informing the Wellness Spa Manager of relevant issues at all times
• Developing and promoting organized events such as fitness challenges and group activities
• Supporting the Spa Manager to increase visits and revenue, promoting other spa services as required

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

• Level 2 Gym Instructor/Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification
• Experience instructing classes, with the ability to teach multiple classes per shift
• Experience in spas or the fitness industry; pool responder qualification is desirable
• Patience, excellent customer service, and a proactive attitude
