Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) to join our dynamic and expanding team. This role provides direct access to musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy for patients without prior GP referral. You will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of MSK conditions, contributing to improved patient outcomes and efficient care pathways.

The ideal candidate will have significant clinical expertise in MSK physiotherapy and be passionate about delivering high-quality patient care. This position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of integrated care, directly impacting MSK service delivery within the community.

Main duties of the job
  • Work as an autonomous MSK practitioner, using your expert knowledge to strengthen links for wider MSK services through clinical leadership, teaching, and evaluation skills.
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients, taking responsibility for a complex caseload.
  • Request investigations (e.g., X-rays, blood tests) and referrals, interpret results, and feedback to aid diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Develop integrated, tailored care programs with patients, including self-management, physiotherapy referrals, and social prescribing.
  • Build collaborative relationships across the PCN to support pathway integration in primary care.
  • Work closely with secondary care MSK services, community MSK services, and social interventions to support primary care patient management.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and services regarding diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options to support personalized care.

Salary: £36,600 - £42,000 (dependent on experience)

Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-time
