Remote Medical is seeking a qualified QNUK Level 3 First Aider to support on-site workforce in the Bristol area. This day-rate, short-term holiday cover role requires prompt first aid response and compliance with safety procedures.

You will carry equipment, maintain records, liaise with emergency services, and travel to site with a dedicated vehicle. DBS check and full UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

  • Current QNUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience delivering first aid and managing medical emergencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to first aid requests between 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday (excluding UK bank holidays).
  • Assess casualties and provide appropriate first aid per standards.
  • Provide emergency first aid for a wide range of conditions (CPR, choking, bleeding, shock, injuries).
  • Keep first aid equipment and site vehicle stocked and ready for use.
  • Maintain confidential incident records per data protection requirements.
  • Liaise with emergency services when required with clear information.
  • Offer reassurance and support to those affected by incidents.
  • Comply with policies, health and safety procedures and infection control.
  • Act as a key medical contact and support a safe working environment.
  • Support emergency drills with realistic scenarios.

Summary

RMI is seeking a highly competent, proactive, and professional QNUK Level 3 First Aider to provide immediate medical assistance to our valued client\'s on-site workforce in the Bristol, United Kingdom (BS34) area.


This is a vital role focused on maintaining the health, safety, and wellbeing of individuals across the client\'s site. The successful candidate will be provided with all necessary equipment and a dedicated site vehicle to support the delivery of first aid services.


This position is paid on a day rate for short term holiday cover through out the year.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Respond promptly and effectively to all requests for first aid assistance between 08:00 and 16:00, Monday to Friday, excluding UK Bank and Public Holidays.

  • Assess casualties and determine appropriate treatment in line with QNUK Level 3 First Aid at Work standards and best practice.

  • Provide emergency first aid treatment for a wide range of situations, including:


    • Unresponsive casualties (CPR and recovery position)

    • Choking incidents

    • Minor and major bleeding

    • Shock

    • Cuts, grazes, burns, bruises and splinters

    • Suspected head, spinal and chest injuries

    • Eye injuries

    • Anaphylaxis

    • Medical emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, seizures, asthma attacks and diabetic incidents


  • Ensure first aid equipment and the dedicated site vehicle are fully stocked, maintained and ready for use.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of incidents, assessments and treatments in accordance with data protection requirements and client procedures.

  • Liaise with emergency services when required, providing clear and accurate information.

  • Offer reassurance and support to casualties and others affected by incidents.

  • Comply with all RMI policies, client health and safety procedures, and infection control requirements.

  • Act as a key medical point of contact and contribute to a safe and positive working environment.

  • Support emergency response and first aid exercises by facilitating realistic scenarios to enhance business resilience.

  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:


Essential Requirements


  • Current QNUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) or an equivalent nationally recognised qualification.

  • Proven experience delivering first aid and managing a variety of medical emergencies and injuries.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider team.

  • Good understanding of health and safety practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general IT literacy.

  • Full right to work in the UK.

  • Full UK driving licence with no penalty points.

  • Enhanced DBS check.

  • Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Bristol (BS34) area.


Desirable


  • Experience within an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or complex client-facing environment.

  • Additional medical, healthcare, or emergency response qualifications.

  • Certificate in Mental Health First Aid.
