Job summary

Trafford & Stockport College Group is seeking a First Aid Trainer to deliver workshops and courses across Stockport and Trafford, as well as on our five campuses. You will use a variety of teaching strategies to provide outstanding learning experiences for adult learners and ensure all course documentation is kept up to date.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding First Aid (both non accredited and accredited) workshops and courses using a diverse range of teaching and learning strategies.
  • Provide learners with an exceptional educational experience enabling them to maximise their potential.
  • Ensure documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans, RARPA documentation and other resources are in place before the start of courses, and keep course administration up to date.
  • Provide informal information, advice and guidance for learners, identifying individual support needs and progression opportunities, signposting learners to appropriate progression opportunities.
  • Participate in staff meetings and carry out other duties as required, working with Lifelong Learning Leader and Community Development Workers to deliver high-quality community learning.
  • Develop good relationships with staff and learners in college and community venues to strengthen participation in adult community learning.

First Aid Trainer - Flexible Contract (variable hours)

The Trafford and Stockport College Group is seeking a First Aid trainer to join our Lifelong Learning Team. You will be required to deliver workshops and courses in community venues to adult learners across Stockport and Trafford as well as on any of the 5 campuses.

About the Lifelong Learning Department

The Lifelong Learning team is an ambitious and fast-moving division that focuses on delivering a variety of accredited and non-accredited learning opportunities in a range of subject areas including life skills, health and wellbeing, digital skills, functional skills (maths and English), creative activities, employability and citizenship. We offer courses for adults in Trafford and Stockport on our 5 college sites as well as in partner community venues and schools.

The Role
  • To deliver outstanding First Aid (both non accredited and accredited), Paediatric Awareness and CPR Awareness workshops and courses using a diverse range of teaching and learning strategies. You will provide learners with an exceptional educational experience enabling them to maximise their potential.
  • To ensure documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans, RARPA documentation and other resources are in place before the start of courses, ensuring all course related administration is kept up to date.
  • To provide informal information, advice and guidance for learners, identifying individual support needs and individual progression opportunities, signposting leaners to appropriate progression opportunities.
  • To participate in staff meetings as required, carrying out any other duties that may be reasonably required.
  • To work closely with the Lifelong Learning Leader and the Community Development Workers to deliver responsive, high-quality community learning provision.
  • To develop good relationships with staff and learners in college and community venues, to strengthen the capacity of local people in different communities to participate in adult community learning.
