Job Title: Firearms Administration Officer - HC620972

Location: Winchester

Contract: Temporary for 18 months

Closing date: Monday 26th May 2025 at 23.59 hours

Information for Internal Staff applying via secondment:

If applying as a secondment, obtain prior approval from your Line Manager and Head of Department. Complete the ‘Police Staff Internal Secondment Declaration’ and upload it with your application. This form must be submitted before the vacancy’s closing date. Support or lack thereof from management will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Role overview:

Help Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary ensure responsible issuance of firearms, shotgun, and explosive certificates by checking applications, conducting risk assessments, and vetting checks, including renewals and new applications, before approval or further investigation.

Essential Qualifications

Educated to QCF Level 2 (3-5 passes including English and Maths) or equivalent work experience.

Extensive administrative experience in a customer-focused environment providing excellent service.
