The Role:
The Lancashire Industrial Fire Training Centre (LIFT), part of the Fleetwood Nautical Campus at Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC), is seeking a motivated and experienced Fire Trainer to join our Offshore Team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver specialist fire training across Maritime, Oil & Gas, Industrial, and Nuclear sectors, contributing to the development of industry-ready professionals.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:
As a Fire Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality practical and theoretical fire training courses. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering engaging fire safety and firefighting training, including Breathing Apparatus (BA) training, across various programmes.
  • Developing and maintaining course materials aligned with current industry standards and regulations.
  • Conducting assessments, providing feedback, and supporting learners to achieve excellent outcomes.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure effective learning pathways and continuous quality improvement.
  • Supporting course development, evaluation, and quality assurance activities.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Extensive fire service or equivalent experience in BA training, firefighting techniques, and classroom instruction.
  • A teaching and assessor qualification, or willingness to attain one within 24 months.
