Job description

Equans is looking for a Fire Technician to join our team in Leiston, Suffolk (Sizewell B Power Station) on a permanent basis for our EDF contract. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview

To undertake all fire systems work on a planned maintenance system, including function testing and repair of detection and loss control systems.

Technical Competences

• Knowledge of loss prevention systems
• Knowledge and understanding of fire detection systems
• Knowledge of repair strategies
• IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft applications and other information management systems

Industry Qualifications Required / Desirable

• BSFA Units 1 & 5
• LPC sprinkler accreditation
• C&G in an engineering subject or equivalent qualification
• NVQ Level 2 Engineering or similar qualification

Training Requirements

Includes company induction, health and safety training, manual handling, radiation and contamination control, and other safety and technical courses.

Desirable Training

• Safety harness training
• Working in confined spaces
• Reading technical drawings
• Mechanical qualification and pipe fitting experience would be advantageous
