Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking engineers to service and maintain addressable and non-addressable fire detection and alarm systems across a static campus on three sites. You will fault-find efficiently and uphold high quality on all tasks while coordinating with the client and administration teams.

Ideal candidates are trained in electrical/electronic maintenance with FIA modules and will support junior staff, comply with Health and Safety policies, and participate in Planned Preventive Maintenance

Qualifications

• Educated to City & Guilds or equivalent for electrical/electronic systems maintenance.
• FIA Module Unit 1 (FD&A system Basic Design) or equivalent.
• FIA Module Unit 5 (FD&A Maintenance) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver servicing, maintenance, reactive breakdowns on addressable and non-addressable fire detection & alarm systems across a static campus.
• Fault-find on addressable and non-addressable systems using knowledge and experience.

About The Role:

Person Specification

• Working within a team to deliver servicing, maintenance, reactive breakdowns and close support works on addressable and non-addressable automatic fire detection & alarm systems and associated equipment to a varied customer base on a static campus across three sites.
• Use existing knowledge and experience to fault find on small and large addressable and non-addressable automatic fire detection & alarm systems.
• Take responsibility for the overall quality of the work delivered on-site.
• Carry out effective communications with the client and administration team.
• Help ensure the company meets its obligations and adheres to guidelines and regulations laid down by the professional bodies they subscribe to.
• Work closely with other engineers and provide support and training to more junior members of the team.
• Advise or recommend improvement for additions or reductions in the scope of works.
• Professionally carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance and Reactive Activities in conjunction with site/client’s database requirements.
• To ensure all reactive works are carried out in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
• Any other duties as requested by other staff, service desk personnel and Management.
• Comply with policies relating to Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Technical Compliance issues that affect the customer and employees.
• Carry out all duties in accordance with the Company Safety Manual.

Person Specification

• Educated to City & Guilds or equivalent for the maintenance of electrical/electronic systems.
• FIA Module Unit 1 (FD&A system Basic Design) or equivalent
• FIA Module Unit 5 (FD&A Maintenance) or equivalent
• Proven ability to service and repair Fire Detection and Gas Extinguishing systems.
• Proven experience of working within a similar role or environment
• Knowledge of relevant standards (BS5839 2025 Fire detection and alarm BS6266 Fire protection for electronic equipment installations)
• Diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to resolve by elimination and/or technical recommendations
• Health & Safety Trained
