Job summary

HRGO Recruitment's Rainham office is partnering with a leading fire protection specialist to recruit a Fire Sprinkler Service Engineer in Essex. You will service, test, and maintain commercial and residential sprinkler systems across varied sites in Basildon and surrounding areas.

The role requires at least 3 years' experience, LPCB or FHC qualifications, full UK driving licence, and a proactive, customer-focused approach. A company vehicle and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience as a Sprinkler Service Engineer.
• LPCB, FHC or equivalent sprinkler qualifications (essential).
• Experience on commercial and residential sprinkler systems with maintenance, testing and fault finding.
• Strong Health & Safety understanding.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible hours and call-out duties.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on sprinkler systems.
• Conduct inspections, water testing, alarm checks, and sprinkler head inspections.
• Service pumps, pipework and valve sets.
• Maintain and repair sprinkler systems to ensure performance.
• Perform dry and wet riser testing and report findings.
• Participate in call-out rota and occasional night work.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking skilled Sprinkler Service Engineers to join their expanding Commercial Buildings Division.

The Role

You will be responsible for the servicing, testing, maintenance and repair of fire sprinkler systems across a varied client portfolio including commercial buildings, retail sites, hotels and residential developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire sprinkler systems and associated equipment.
• Conduct visual inspections, water supply testing, alarm testing, valve checks and sprinkler head inspections.
• Service fire pumps, pipework and valve sets.
• Clean and maintain sprinkler systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform dry and wet riser testing.
• Troubleshoot faults and undertake repairs and replacements as required.
• Carry out annual inspections and weekly testing procedures.
• Produce detailed service reports, documenting faults and recommending remedial actions.
• Participate in a rotating out-of-hours call-out schedule.
• Undertake occasional night work when required.
• Ensure all work complies with current fire safety and industry regulations.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Sprinkler Service Engineer.
• LPCB, FHC or equivalent sprinkler qualifications (essential).
• Proven experience working on commercial and residential sprinkler systems.Strong knowledge of sprinkler maintenance, testing and fault finding.
• Excellent understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible approach to working hours and call-out duties.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• A proactive, self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
