Venatu Recruitment is proud to announce that a successful, industry-leading client is looking for 2 Service Engineers to join their team. They specialise in the Fire Suppression industry and are the UK's leading Data Centre Fire Suppression provider. They pride themselves on their sterling track record and reputation as industry go-to experts.

Due to growth, they are seeking 2 Service Engineers with fire suppression experience. The Fire Service Engineer will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and supporting fire protection systems, ensuring all work is conducted safely, to high standards, and in compliance with statutory and industry regulations. Responsibilities include commissioning, documentation, and client handover throughout each service visit or small project.

This permanent role offers a salary of £36k - £40k, plus a £6.5k car allowance or a company van, and a 10% annual bonus. The position is for 40 hours per week, with flexible hours between 8AM and 6PM.

Key duties include:

  1. Carrying out service visits according to the schedule and reporting issues promptly.
  2. Engaging from start to finish of each job, including design support, calculations, and documentation.
  3. Servicing and testing fire protection systems in line with standards such as BS5839 and BS5306, maintaining accurate records.
  4. Participating in build budget development, resource, and procurement planning.
  5. Supervising subcontractors during service or small works projects.
  6. Undertaking small works safely and in compliance with health and safety standards.
  7. Reporting comprehensively and timely, including submitting signed worksheets and photos.
  8. Maintaining cost control and supporting invoicing processes.
  9. Assisting with sales or estimation tasks as needed.
  10. Collaborating with sales, design, and technical teams for project continuity and handover.
  11. Representing the company professionally, fostering client and industry relationships.
  12. Supporting the company's reputation for quality and reliability in fire protection.
  13. Working cooperatively with site management and contributing positively to the team.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in fire protection service engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety systems, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Skill in resolving site issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience supervising subcontractors or junior staff (desirable).
  • Full UK driving license.

Highly desirable qualifications include FIA, IFEDA, or equivalent fire safety training, knowledge of health and safety legislation, CSCS, PASMA, IPAF certifications.
