Job summary

Example Recruitment Group is seeking experienced Fire Stoppers / Passive Fire Protection Installers to work on commercial projects based in Walsall, West Midlands. You will install and maintain passive fire protection systems to prevent the spread of fire and smoke in commercial buildings.

Responsibilities include installing fire rated batt, mastics, collars, pipe wraps, sealing systems, and documenting work while adhering to safety standards. CSCS card and own tools are often required on site.

Qualifications

• Essential: experience as Fire Stopper or Passive Fire Protection Installer.
• Experience installing fire batt, mastic, collars, pipe wraps and penetration sealing systems.
• Experience on commercial construction, refurbishment or maintenance projects.
• Good understanding of fire compartmentation and passive fire protection requirements.
• Ability to follow technical specifications and manufacturers' guidance.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily workloads.
• Appropriate CSCS card for site access, where required.
• Own tools where required by the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Install fire-rated batt and board systems.
• Apply fire-rated mastics, sealants and intumescent materials.
• Install fire collars, pipe wraps and penetration sealing systems.
• Seal service penetrations around pipes, cables, ductwork and services.
• Install linear gap seals and other fire stopping systems.
• Carry out fire compartmentation remedial works.
• Identify damaged or non-compliant fire stopping installations.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and installation specs.
• Work according to manufacturers' instructions and tested systems.
• Complete photographic records and installation documentation.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.
• Work independently or with other passive fire protection operatives.
