RSD Recruitment is partnering with a well-established generator business to recruit a Service Engineer. We are seeking independent and confident individuals with a strong background in diesel generators, diesel engines, and mechanics.

Key duties and responsibilities:

1. Service, repair, and maintain generators according to manufacturer specifications to ensure machine reliability and safety.
2. Have a keen eye for detail, report machine defects, and upsell services where possible.
3. Successfully diagnose faults prior to initiating and completing repairs.
4. Complete risk assessments in line with company health and safety policies and ensure safe working practices at all times.
5. Accurately order parts with the parts department.
6. Work closely with the service department and management team.
7. Perform any other duties necessary to fulfill the role.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in diesel engines, diesel generators, and mechanics.
• Knowledge and experience with a variety of machinery, ideally in the construction or agricultural industry.
• Relationship-building skills to interact with customers and develop positive relationships that deliver satisfying experiences.
• Effective communication skills for internal and external interactions to facilitate planning and work completion.
• Time management skills to set and meet task deadlines while maintaining safety standards.
• Professional presentation to maintain a positive image at all times.
• A full driving license and the ability to operate machinery on-site for testing purposes (training can be provided to the right candidate).
