Job description

Job Title: Systems Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systems Engineer in our Fire & Security Systems business team based in the South West or South East London area, covering the surrounding territory.

What you will be doing:
  1. Attend to calls for maintenance (on site and/or by telephone) as directed by team coordinators.
  2. Rectify all faults on the first visit where rectification is within your control.
  3. Carry out a rolling programme of preventative maintenance visits.
  4. Collect and record site configuration information.
  5. Maintain car stock (spares) levels.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely records.
  7. Provide cover on an out-of-hours basis on a rotating basis.
  8. Commission small projects when required.
  9. Ensure audits are carried out according to quality procedures.
  10. Provide training to customers and colleagues as required.
  11. Carry out any additional tasks that may be required.
What we are looking for:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience installing and servicing a wide product base of access control systems, CCTV systems, and intruder alarm systems.
  • Experience servicing fire alarm systems, ideally GENT-based.
  • An IT qualification and/or Electrical/Electronic qualification.
  • A broad technical IT knowledge, including installing various Windows Operating Systems, networking, etc.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical principles such as measuring voltage and current drain.
  • Good attention to detail to ensure all paperwork is correctly completed and procedures are followed within the designated time frames.
  • An enthusiastic team player capable of working well under pressure and maintaining a professional approach at all times.
