We are seeking a hands-on Fire & Security Pre-Construction Manager to join our expanding team based in Ware, Hertfordshire.

The main focus of this role is to produce detailed, accurate estimates for Fire & Security systems across a wide range of projects — from client enquiry through to secured project handover.

You will lead the estimating process, support technical proposals, and help structure projects for smooth delivery by our operational teams.

You will work closely with our Electrical Pre-Construction Manager, providing full Fire & Security estimating and pre-construction support as we continue to grow across both disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed, accurate estimates for Fire Detection, CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, and Integrated Security Systems.
• Lead the Fire & Security pre-construction process for all tendered and negotiated projects.
• Review client specifications, conduct site surveys, and develop technically compliant and commercially viable solutions.
• Prepare full scope of works documents, technical proposals, and supporting tender submissions.
• Work closely with our design, operations, and commercial teams to ensure structured project set-up.
• Attend client meetings, presentations, and site visits as required.
• Carry out value engineering exercises to optimise system performance and project cost without compromising compliance.
• Ensure all proposals meet the latest British Standards and industry regulations (e.g., BS5839, BS6266, BS EN50132).
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Identify potential risks to project margins during the estimating and proposal stages.

Qualifications And Experience

• Proven track record producing Fire & Security estimates in a contractor or pre-construction environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of Fire Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, and Integrated Security Systems.
• Detailed understanding of current British Standards and best practice.
• Experience using Ensign Estimating Software and/or Simpro is highly advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organised, proactive, and commercially aware.
• Professional certifications (e.g., FIA Units, NSI, BAFE) are desirable.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
