Job summary

Reed is seeking an Estimator (Fire & Security) in Bury to prepare accurate cost estimates for fire protection and security systems. You will review tender documents and drawings, liaise with suppliers for current prices, and issue timely quotations while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, strong numeracy, and effective communication with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in an estimating role, preferably within Active fire protection.
• Proficient in reading construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings and specifications to understand project requirements.
• Prepare cost estimates for Active fire protection and related systems.
• Issue quotations within deadlines and obtain up-to-date supplier pricing.
• Identify labour, materials and subcontractor needs for each project.
• Communicate with clients, contractors and internal teams for clarifications.
• Maintain records of tender documents, revisions and client communications.
• Support handovers to delivery teams with accurate information.
• Assess profitability and highlight value engineering opportunities.
