Job Description:
Job Purpose:
To provide support to both on-site engineers and clients. You will also be responsible for carrying out system maintenance, reactive and small or extra works to CCTV, access control, security systems, automatic fire, fire extinguishing and fire aspiration alarm systems, serving both internal and external clients. We prefer candidates with a multi-disciplined background in Fire and Security. Knowledge of working with large commercial clients and various manufacturers will be an advantage.
Duties/responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities
- Perform upgrades and system repairs
- Implement modifications in line with contract requirements
- Maintain regular communication with the service centre or client regarding Key Point Indicators and service level agreements
Resource responsibilities:
- Provide planned preventive maintenance, system repair, small works, and system commissioning as per requests and client needs
- Prepare dilapidation reports on new contracts and advise on improvements or modifications
- Support design, support, and quotation processes following British Standards
- Maintain strong communication with clients and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, environmental, and technical standards
- Complete risk assessments for all tasks
- Wear PPE as required
- Complete works in accordance with British Standards and good practices
- Submit administrative paperwork timely
- Coordinate with EMCOR Service Centre and follow up on non-compliance issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and skills:
- Minimum 5 years experience in servicing, maintaining, and installing CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and fire systems
- Multidisciplinary engineering background preferred
- Knowledge of British Standards, NSI, LPCB standards
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience with permits to work, method statements, and risk assessments
- Advanced PC and LAN/WAN networking skills
- Health & Safety trained
- Experience in system design, surveying, estimating, and quoting
- Ability to manage a program of works and team/self-delivery within deadlines
- Understanding asset management and just-in-time replacement processes
- Reactive work within service level agreements
Person Specification:
- Proven experience in similar roles or environments
- GCSE level education with City & Guilds or equivalent in electronic equipment installation
- Experience with fire and security systems, networking, and data communications
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards and NACP
- Strong diagnostic skills and experience with permits, method statements, and risk assessments
