Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking an experienced Engineer to join the Fire & Security Systems Operations Field service team in Harrow. You will ensure effective delivery of PPM, reactive calls and small works for fire alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder alarm systems.

The role requires routine servicing, testing, inspection and installation, with attention to health and safety standards, accurate documentation, and readiness to participate in training to stay current with technical requirements.

Qualifications

• PPM, reactive calls and small works experience in fire and security systems.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety standards and RAMS familiarity.
• Good communication skills and ability to document work records promptly.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, testing, inspection, repairs and installation of fire alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder alarm equipment.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Engineer to work as a member of the Mitie Fire & Security Systems Operations Field service team. You'll ensure effective delivery of PPM, Reactive calls and additional Small Works, ensuring compliance with all Legal and Regulatory requirements.

You'll be expected to carry out routine servicing, testing, inspection, repairs, and installation of Fire alarms, CCTV, Access control and Intruder alarm/associated equipment and products to the relevant legislative and qualitative standards, alongside appropriate documentation and records in a timely and appropriate manner. You should have excellent communication skills, alongside basic Microsoft Word and Excel literacy.

You should be capable of working to high levels of Health and Safety Requirements and having previous experience in a similar role carrying out PPM, reactive calls and Small Works in the Fire & Security Systems industry. Service test and inspection experience to the relevant standards/codes are also expected including fault-finding techniques. You will also be expected to actively attend and participate in any company-initiated training to maintain an up to date knowledge of technical aspects of the role.

The ideal candidate would have previous experience with PPM, Accident Reporting, or RAMS, alongside following Health and Safety Legislation, preferably in the engineering field. Sharing technical and problem-solving abilities and knowledge with colleagues alongside an ability to take initiative and work with little supervision is also ideal.
