Job summary

Complete Security Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Design Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for Fire and Security systems projects across the UK. You will support the tender process from initial pricing through to winning profitable contracts, working with account managers and BD teams to optimise proposals.

The role requires strong numeracy, experience in Fire and Security systems, and the ability to interpret drawings and tender docs.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating Fire and Security systems within the UK market.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Experience producing detailed quotations and cost models.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and quotations.
• Complete tender submissions within deadlines.
• Conduct site surveys where required to support design and pricing activities.
• Calculate labour, materials, subcontractor, commissioning, and maintenance costs.
• Prepare detailed bills of quantities and equipment schedules.
• Review project risks and commercial assumptions.
• Support bid clarification meetings and client presentations.
• Assist in securing profitable projects through accurate estimating.
• Review supplier quotations and negotiate pricing where appropriate.
• Contribute to bid strategy and value engineering exercises.
• Support account managers and business development teams during the sales process.
