Job description

Location: London, Maidstone, Chichester, Peterborough, Bristol, Manchester, and Edinburgh.

Bailey Partnership is seeking experienced Fire Safety Surveyors to deliver FRAEW/EWS1 external wall and internal passive fire safety surveys across the UK.

Since 1971, Bailey Partnership has been a top 150 building consultancy, offering multi-disciplinary services across the UK and Europe, focusing on building relationships and quality service.

The external surveys involve intrusive investigations of external wall systems for combustibility and flame spread, requiring knowledge of building technology and pathology. Internal surveys include compartmentation, fire door inspections, and fire risk assessments (FRA), along with providing fire safety advice.

The role includes providing technical input, managing higher-profile surveys, leading the surveying team, and ensuring surveys meet standards and deadlines.

Training will be provided, including enrolment in RICS EWS1 Assessment and fire door/compartmentation courses.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Membership with RICS, CABE, CIOB, RIBA, or similar
• Strong building pathology or technology knowledge
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Team leadership or management experience
• Experience or knowledge of fire safety, FRAEW/EWS1

The role offers a salary between £60,000 - £70,000, dependent on experience, along with a pension scheme and benefits.

Travel is involved for site surveys. Hybrid working is available, with regular office meetings.
