Overview

Job Title: Fire Safety Surveyor / Engineer
Location: London and Home Counties
Salary: £45-55K DOE
Bonus: 5%-15% additional pay (bonus scheme)

Role

As Fire Safety Surveyor / Engineer you will demonstrate strong report writing and surveying skills. You will work from home and travel to perform on-site inspections. You will produce reports in line with regulations and advise on building design and materials to reduce the risk of fires starting and spreading. You will produce external wall analyses, fire strategies, fire risk assessments, and 3D evacuation modelling. You will mainly visit sites in London and the Home Counties.

Responsibilities
  • Perform on-site inspections as a Fire Safety Surveyor / Engineer
  • Produce reports in line with fire safety regulations
  • Advise on building design and materials to reduce fire risk
  • Prepare external wall analyses, fire strategies, fire risk assessments, and 3D evacuation modelling
  • Travel to sites predominantly in London and the Home Counties
Qualifications & Experience
  • Ideally prior work as a fire engineer performing external wall surveys
  • Alternatively, RICS membership with surveying experience or experience in a building control role
  • Familiarity with fire safety regulations and their application to fire strategies
  • Beneficial: experience in structural engineering, architecture or surveying
  • Educated to MSc or PhD level in Fire Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Surveying, Structural Engineering or related field
About

Industry experience in Fire Safety, EWS1, External Walls, Civil Engineering, Construction, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Surveying, Fire Strategy, Structural Engineering, Thermodynamics, RICS, or related areas is considered advantageous.
