Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Fire Safety Officer to join Derby Homes. Derby Homes manages and maintains approximately 12,500 properties in Derby, employing 600 staff across housing management, repairs, maintenance, refurbishment, and new builds.

This role offers a broad spectrum of fire safety responsibilities, including providing advice, conducting fire risk assessments across properties, and fostering a strong fire safety culture within the organization. The position requires an on-site presence at various Derby Homes sites and offers flexible working arrangements.

Key responsibilities include maintaining high fire safety standards, ensuring legal compliance through audits, inspections, and training, and working closely with teams to promote safety.

Candidates should hold or be willing to work towards the Institution of Fire Engineers Registered Life Safety Fire Risk Assessor qualification, including Engineering Technician (EngTech) status or equivalent. Knowledge of the Building Safety Act and high-rise buildings is advantageous.
