Job summary

Chime Housing is seeking a Fire Safety Manager to lead our compliance team and drive robust fire safety systems across properties in the Watford area. The role delivers assessment, installation, testing and monitoring of alarms, sprinklers, emergency lighting and related equipment to protect residents.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in fire safety, property compliance or housing maintenance.
• Proven experience of contract and contractor management.
• Strong understanding of fire safety legislation, regulation and risk management.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Highly organised with ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Relevant qualification in construction, property services or equivalent (degree or Level 6 preferred).
• Full driving license with access to a car insured for business use.
• NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the fire safety function at Chime Housing, ensuring statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
• Oversee fire risk assessment programme, identifying and mitigating risks.
• Lead installation, maintenance and testing of fire safety systems and equipment.
• Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring value and high-quality service.
• Collaborate across departments to embed fire safety into operations.
• Provide expert reporting and insight to senior leadership.
• Develop the team with a data-led culture focused on customer safety.
