Job summary

Chime Housing is seeking a Fire Safety Manager to lead and develop the fire safety function across our housing properties, ensuring full compliance with fire safety legislation and best practice. You will oversee risk assessments, manage firefighting systems, and drive safe outcomes for residents.

The role requires strong leadership, contract management experience, and a robust understanding of fire safety standards.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in fire safety, property compliance or housing maintenance within housing or similar.
• Proven experience of contract and contractor management.
• Strong understanding of fire safety legislation, regulation and risk management.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Degree or Level 6 qualification preferred.
• Full Driving Licence and car access for business use.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the fire safety function at Chime Housing, ensuring statutory/regulatory compliance.
• Oversee the fire risk assessment programme, identify and mitigate risks.
• Lead on installation, maintenance and testing of fire safety systems and equipment.
• Manage contractors and suppliers, drive value for money and service quality.
• Collaborate across departments to embed fire safety into operations.
• Provide expert reporting and insights to senior leadership.
• Lead, coach and develop the Fire Safety Team to a data-led culture.
