As our Fire Safety Manager in the Building Safety Team, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our customers and homes safe—bringing clarity, structure, and action to this crucial area.

This is a new role where you’ll lead fire safety initiatives in your region. You’ll conduct inspections, collaborate with contractors, review standards, and ensure risks are managed properly. Your focus will be on proactive problem-solving, accurate reporting, and ensuring repairs are done correctly the first time. You’ll also serve as a key resource for colleagues seeking practical fire safety advice, helping them feel confident and informed.

What you’ll do

  1. Lead fire safety inspections, manage contractors, and review assessment quality.
  2. Identify trends and risks early, taking preventive action.
  3. Oversee remedial work and post-checks to ensure issues are resolved properly.
  4. Prepare for audits and respond effectively when incidents occur.
  5. Train and support colleagues on fire safety responsibilities.
  6. Contribute to safety case reports and maintain compliance data.

What you bring

  • Extensive experience in fire risk assessment and inspection programs.
  • Level 4 Diploma in Fire Risk Assessment or NEBOSH Fire Certificate (or similar).
  • Ability to manage contractors and challenge poor performance.
  • Good knowledge of the Fire Safety Order and Building Safety Act.
  • Experience leading audits, investigations, and regulatory reporting.
  • A calm, confident communicator who fosters a safety-conscious culture.

Job details

  • Work Monday to Friday.
  • Manage your own schedule, with flexible time for personal appointments.
  • Occasional evening work may be required to meet with clients.
  • Hybrid role: some days in the office or on-site, others working from home.
  • Coverage area includes the South.
  • A vehicle insured for business use is required; mileage will be reimbursed.
  • An Enhanced DBS check is required, and we will cover the cost.
