As our new Fire Safety Manager in the Building Safety Team, you'll play a vital role in keeping our customers and homes safe—bringing clarity, structure, and action to one of the most important parts of our work.

This is a brand new role where you'll lead fire safety in your region. You'll be out and about, guiding inspections, working with contractors, checking standards, and ensuring risks are dealt with properly. It's about proactive problem-solving, accurate reporting, and ensuring fixes are done right the first time. You'll also be a go-to person for colleagues needing practical advice on fire safety, helping them feel confident and well-informed.

What you'll do

  1. Lead fire safety inspections, manage contractors, and review assessment quality
  2. Identify trends and risks early, taking action before they escalate
  3. Guide remedial work and post-checks to ensure proper resolution
  4. Prepare for audits and respond confidently when issues arise
  5. Train and support colleagues to understand their fire safety responsibilities
  6. Contribute to safety case reports and golden thread data to support compliance

What you bring

  • Strong experience in fire risk assessment and inspection programmes
  • Level 4 Diploma in Fire Risk Assessment or NEBOSH Fire Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Skilled at managing contractors and challenging poor performance
  • Good knowledge of the Fire Safety Order and Building Safety Act
  • Comfortable leading audits, investigations, and regulatory reporting
  • A calm, confident communicator who supports others to build a safer culture
