The role involves ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation, developing risk management processes, and providing professional advice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire safety and a commitment to improving safety standards.
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Fire Safety Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for the management of fire safety and risk across all three sites – Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, Royal Hampshire County Hospital, and Andover War Memorial Hospital.
To be successful, you must be an experienced fire safety professional with a solid understanding of fire safety legislation, including healthcare-specific regulations. You should have a proven track record in delivering fire safety improvements and providing professional advice that balances fire safety with operational risks.
The Fire Safety Manager will develop and maintain effective processes and systems for fire risk management, supporting the Trust's statutory obligations relating to fire safety. You will ensure that fire safety activities align with national and local guidance, providing assurance through reports and mitigation plans where gaps are identified.
You will ensure that appropriate policies, procedures, and governance processes are in place to support fire safety compliance across the Trust. As the lead competent person, you will be responsible for fire safety issues, adhering to NHS Firecode standards and the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
