About the Role

Fire Safety Co-ordinator

Are you passionate about ensuring the safety of others and have a keen eye for detail? Join EDF UK as a Fire Safety Co-ordinator and play a crucial role in protecting our staff and plant from fire risks. Your expertise will be vital in preventing fire incidents and managing events in line with legal requirements.

The Opportunity

As a Fire Safety Co-ordinator at EDF UK, you will address all aspects of fire safety, manage part of the fire safety budget, advise on training requirements, liaise with regulators and local fire services, and act as the fire safety point of contact. You will coordinate fire safety across the site, ensuring that all necessary measures are in place to protect our staff and plant.In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring fire safety policies and procedures meet relevant requirements, securing effective fire detection, suppression, fire barriers, emergency lighting, and fire warning systems. You will also oversee hot working and evacuation procedures, ensuring all risk assessments are completed and reviewed in line with regulations.

Pay, Benefits & Culture

The salary range associated with this role is between £45,641 - 95,993. You'll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. What You'll Be Doing

You will ensure that fire safety policies and procedures meet relevant requirements. You will secure effective fire detection, suppression, fire barriers, emergency lighting, and fire warning systems, as well as oversee hot working and evacuation procedures. Your role will involve ensuring all risk assessments are completed and reviewed in line with regulations.

You will collaborate and work with all departments, providing advice and safety knowledge. Your oversight of fire safety activities will ensure regular and comprehensive auditing is completed, maintaining the highest standards of fire safety across the site.

Who You Are

You hold an advanced Fire Safety diploma or equivalent qualification and have knowledge of statutory legislation relevant to Nuclear Power Station Operation, Site Licence requirements, fire safety legislation, and environmental policy. You are proficient in the use of AMS, particularly in work management, action tracking, engineering change, and controlled documents.

You have an awareness of plant modification processes and knowledge of nuclear safety case relation to fire safety. Your knowledge of on-site services (water, steam, gas, oil, chemical, and electrical) is essential. IFSM membership and experience in plant operating, emergency service, maintenance, or engineering are both desirable.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
