Job summary

A leading London based University seeks an interim Fire Safety Advisor for an initial 3-month contract. The role includes managing fire safety across all University sites, conducting risk assessments, and providing essential training and compliance oversight. Qualifications

Venn Group have partnered with a leading London based University to recruit an interim Fire Safety Advisor on an initial 3 month contract.

Responsible for assisting with Head of Health and Safety providing advice on hazardous substances, fire safety, machinery safety, training and performance monitoring.

You will manage fire safety across all University sites, providing general health and safety advice, organising, implementing, co-coordinating and maintaining efficient fire prevention measures.

This includes fire safety training, conducting fire risk assessments, advising on fire safety systems, inspection and monitoring fire safety arrangements including that of contractors.

Location: London

Duration: 3 months initially

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Key Duties:

• Conduct Fire Risk Assessments: Evaluate buildings, equipment, and procedures to identify fire hazards and recommend corrective actions.

• Develop and Implement Fire Safety Plans: Create and maintain fire safety procedures, emergency response plans, and fire safety policies.

• Provide Training and Awareness: Deliver fire safety training to staff, including fire extinguisher use, evacuation drills, and general fire awareness.

• Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Monitor adherence to fire safety legislation and health and safety regulations.

• Inspect and Maintain Fire Safety Equipment: Regularly check fire alarms, extinguishers, emergency lighting, and other safety systems to ensure proper functioning.

The successful candidate must have:

• Experience in undertaking Fire Safety Risk Assessments

• Fire Safety Risk Assessment Certificate

• Preferably working towards CFPA Diploma in Fire Prevention, Diploma in Fire Safety or Diploma In Fire Science and Fire Safety
