Job summary

Amentum is recruiting a Fire Risk Assessor to support the Commissioning programme for the HPC project in the UK. You will drive fire safety analyses, assessments and governance across commissioning sites while promoting a positive fire safety culture.

The role requires a Level 4 Fire Safety Qualification with relevant experience, strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, and the ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders. Flexible/hybrid working arrangements are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 4 Fire Safety Qualification with an approved professional body (IFE) and at least 2 years' experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of Fire Safety.
• Detailed understanding of Fire Safety Legislation and codes of practice (Fire Safety Order 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021, Fire Safety Regulations 2022) and their applicability.
• Appropriate qualification such as H&S Diploma (NEBOSH) and accreditation to (or working towards) a Fire Risk Assessor National Register (IFE/IFSM/FRACS).
• Experience carrying out Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) in varied CommOps and operating environments.
• Ability to communicate clearly at all levels, in reports and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Implement Fire Hazard Analyses (FHA) and Fire Risk Assessments (FRA) with inputs from HPC SMEs.
• Assist the CommOps Fire Safety Lead with Fire Safety Arrangements in Commissioning and write/own FRA for Commissioning.
• Support Fire Safety Management Systems administration and Fire Safety Audit/Assurance activities.
• Contribute to implementing the Commissioning fire safety strategy for Commissioning/Pre Op/Maintenance areas.
• Ensure HPC Fire Safety Standards are met and uphold the HPC Way values.
• Communicate lessons learned via toolbox talks and fire safety moments across CommOps.
• Assist with regular site fire safety inspections and checks with the Commissioning Fire Safety Coordinator.
• Support Fire Safety Assurance Audits, inspections and monitoring across controlled areas and site contractors.
