A leading safety consultancy in the UK is seeking a Fire Risk Assessor for a hybrid role. The position requires a robust understanding of fire safety regulations and hands-on experience in creating comprehensive fire risk assessments. Candidates should be familiar with legislative requirements and possess relevant qualifications, including fire risk assessment certifications and health and safety diplomas. This role involves advising clients, preparing assessments, and developing strategic reports to enhance safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Familiar with BAFE SP205 Validation process.
• Demonstrable CPD record.
• Member of IFSM or IFE.

• Preparing fire, health and safety risk assessments in accordance with legislative requirements.
• Deliver on client specific projects and competent person roles.
• Develop emergency plans and evacuation plans.

The day job

• Preparing fire, health and safety risk assessments in accordance with legislative requirements.
• Develop retrospective fire strategy reports for residential and student accommodation buildings.
• Provide robust fire, health and safety advice to clients with high level advocacy
• Develop emergency plans and evacuation plans (including specific tenant plans).
• Deliver on client specific projects and competent person roles.
• Provide corporate management advice, gap analysis reports and fire and health and safety management systems.
• Support Technical Director in department projects.
• Complete technical reviews of consultant fire, health and safety risk assessments.
• Keep up to date with current legislation and advise clients on compliance requirements.
• Identify and discuss solutions to health, safety and fire related problems.
• Review international regulations and compliance regulations, complete European health, safety, and fire safety risk assessments as required.
  

Qualifications/Certifications

• Familiar with BAFE SP205 Validation process.
• Demonstrable CPD record.
• Member of IFSM or IFE.
• Recognised Fire Risk Assessment qualification.
• Diploma level qualification in health and safety.
• CMIOSH or equivalent (or working towards).
• Registered on a recognised Fire Consultants’ Register.
• Thorough understanding of British Standards relating to fire in the residential sector.
• Building regulations Approved Document B, British Standards, relevant fire, health and safety legislation, ACOPS, Approved Documents M and K.
• Awareness of CDM 2015 Regulations.
