Job Description:

1st Select is working in partnership with an award-winning consultancy to recruit a competent Fire Risk Assessor to work in and around the North East.

The role involves:

  • Undertaking fire risk assessments according to nationally recognized guidance, in an appropriate format and standard, in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with the fire safety coordinator and head of fire risk management to deliver risk assessments aligned with contractual requirements.
  • Collaborating with sub-consultants.
  • Attending client meetings when necessary.
  • Peer reviewing/validating others' work.
  • Providing technical advice to clients.
  • Managing client expectations.

Key Skills and Tasks

The fire risk assessor must have a full, clean driving license and be willing to travel throughout the North of the UK as part of daily activities.

Applicants should be fully conversant with current fire safety legislation, standards, issues, trends, and best practices.

Qualifications and Training

It is essential to have completed nationally recognized training courses or be listed on the national register of fire risk assessors. A desire to become third-party certified under a UKAS-accredited fire risk assessor scheme is also preferred.
