Job summary

Purosearch is recruiting an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join our client, a growing fire safety consultancy, covering Barnsley and surrounding areas. You will carry out comprehensive fire risk assessments and ensure compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.

The role requires a recognised fire risk assessment qualification (FRA/NEBOSH CFPA Europe), strong report writing, and a full UK driving licence. Salary £40,000–£55,000, plus benefits and progression opportunities.

Due to continued expansion, they are looking to recruit an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join their team covering Barnsley and the surrounding areas. The Role

As a Fire Risk Assessor, you will be responsible for carrying out comprehensive fire risk assessments in accordance with current fire safety legislation and industry best practice. You will work across a varied portfolio of properties, providing practical recommendations and ensuring clients remain compliant with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Type 1, 2 and 3 fire risk assessments across a diverse range of premises.
• Produce detailed, accurate and compliant fire risk assessment reports.
• Identify fire safety risks and provide practical recommendations for improvement.
• Liaise professionally with clients, contractors and internal teams.
• Keep up to date with changes in fire safety legislation and guidance.
• Manage your own workload and diary efficiently while maintaining high service standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Fire Risk Assessor.
• A recognised fire risk assessment qualification (such as FRA, NEBOSH Fire Safety, CFPA Europe, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and current fire safety guidance.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Desirable

• Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. IFSM, IFE or equivalent).
• Experience assessing a variety of commercial, residential and public sector buildings.
