Job summary

Johnson Controls in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Fire Systems Technician to install, commission, service and maintain fire alarm and suppression systems across commercial, industrial and residential sites. You will work with leading systems such as Gent, Advanced, Kentec, and other manufacturers, ensuring compliance with BS 5839, robust diagnostics and excellent customer service.

A UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

Proven experience in the fire protection industry.
Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and fault finding.
Good understanding of BS 5839 and relevant standards.
Ability to read technical drawings and system documentation.
Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Install, commission, service and maintain fire alarm systems in line with BS 5839.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs.
Programme and configure fire alarm control panels and networked systems.
Complete upgrades and remedial works.
Service, maintain and test gaseous and water mist fire suppression systems.
Attend reactive call-outs and support commissioning activities.
Conduct site surveys, technical assessments and provide customer support.
Ensure all work is completed in line with quality, health & safety and environmental standards.
