Job description

MCL Fire, located in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, is seeking a Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role involves servicing and maintaining fire safety equipment across NI and ROI, with comprehensive training provided. The ideal candidate should be based in Derry/Londonderry and willing to travel as required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Servicing and maintaining fire safety equipment in line with standards
  • Completing paperwork and providing certification
  • Managing call-out requests and installing new firefighting equipment
  • Attending staff meetings and training sessions

Basic duties:

  • Understanding fire classifications and appropriate extinguishers
  • Changing cartridges, O-Rings, tamper seals, and replacing parts
  • Labeling extinguishers and completing service labels
  • Installing signs and equipment safely
  • Conducting discharge tests and refills
  • Inspecting fire hose reels and completing van checks
  • Using the app correctly for job management and documentation
