Get Staff is seeking a Fire Extinguisher Engineer in Huddersfield to service, maintain, and install portable extinguishers across client sites. This field-based role works independently and within a small team, ensuring compliance with current fire safety regulations and company procedures.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (08:30–17:00) with a basic salary of £24,000–£38,000 plus commission and performance bonuses.

Qualifications

• Experience in fire extinguisher servicing or fire protection engineering preferred.
• FIA qualifications or equivalent desirable; training can be provided.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Confident communication and customer-facing skills.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and install portable fire extinguishers in accordance with BS 5306 standards.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service visits.
• Complete certification, service records, and compliance documents accurately.
• Ensure all work meets fire safety regulations and company standards.
• Provide professional customer-facing service on client premises.
• Manage and maintain stock and equipment within the company vehicle.
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding completed works and recommendations.
• Occasional travel 2–3 days per month, with expenses covered.
• Strict adherence to health and safety procedures.

Fire Extinguisher Engineer – Huddersfield – £24,000‑£38,000 Per Annum

• £24,000 basic salary
• 5% commission on each completed job (based on invoice value)
• Average annual earnings: £36,000‑£38,000+, with potential to exceed depending on performance
• Additional bonus opportunities available through annual performance review
• Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 17:00
• 20 days annual leave + bank holidays + 3 additional Christmas shutdown days
• Coverage of Yorkshire & Manchester areas

Fire Extinguisher Engineer Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Fire Extinguisher Engineer to carry out the servicing, maintenance, and installation of portable fire extinguishers across a range of client sites. The role is field‑based and involves working independently as well as within a small team, ensuring all work is completed in line with current fire safety regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and install portable fire extinguishers in accordance with BS 5306 standards
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service visits
• Complete accurate certification, service records, and compliance documentation
• Ensure all work meets current fire safety regulations and company quality standards
• Provide a professional and customer‑facing service on client premises
• Manage and maintain stock and equipment within the company vehicle
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding completed works and recommendations
• Support occasional working away assignments as required (typically 2‑3 days per month, with some months no travel required), with all travel, accommodation, and meal expenses covered
• Maintain strict adherence to health & safety procedures at all times
