Job summary

SOCOTEC UK Building and Real Estate invites applications for a Fire Engineer to join our Fire Engineering team. You will develop fire safety strategies, perform site visits, and contribute to technical reports across diverse building projects.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree (mechanical/structural/civil) plus a postgraduate fire engineering qualification, with 2+ years in a similar role and a strong focus on safety.

Qualifications

A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (mechanical, structural, civil or similar) and a postgraduate fire engineering qualification (certificate, diploma or masters)
At least two years' experience in a similar role and a passion for fire safety
Confident communicator with customer service skills and ability to work independently or in a team

Responsibilities

Develop fire safety strategies and mark-ups for buildings and infrastructure projects
Provide advisory support and carry out site visits during construction
Prepare assessment reports of external wall systems and perform CFD modelling and structural fire engineering analyses
