Job Description

A leading global engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to join their expanding team in a fully remote capacity. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Fire Engineer to work on a wide range of high-profile projects across the UK and internationally, including developments in the US, Philippines, and beyond.

The Fire Engineer Role

This is a varied and rewarding role for a skilled Fire Engineer looking to contribute to both new build and remediation schemes. Working as part of a collaborative, nationwide fire safety team, the Fire Engineer will support residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments at every stage — from design to completion.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Carrying out detailed fire safety assessments, including fire compartmentation and external wall systems.
  2. Developing fire strategies tailored to specific project requirements and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
  3. Providing expert technical guidance across a diverse project portfolio, from residential high-rises to commercial new builds.
  4. Liaising closely with architects, designers, and project stakeholders to integrate fire safety into design proposals.
  5. Supporting remediation schemes by identifying and addressing fire safety risks in existing properties.
The Successful Fire Engineer Will Have
  • A degree in Fire Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE).
  • Demonstrable experience in fire strategy development, façade fire safety, and fire compartmentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of current UK fire safety standards, particularly PAS 9980.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to advise clients and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
