Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and relevant guidance (e.g. BS 9999, BS 7974, ADB).
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing fire safety documentation.
  • Confidently liaise with clients, architects, and authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop fire strategies for new builds and refurbishments.
  • Provide technical advice during design and construction phases.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of fire engineering processes.

Skills

Degree in Fire Engineering or related discipline
2 – 3 years proven experience in fire engineering consultancy
Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and design codes
Excellent communication skills and client-facing confidence
Ability to manage projects independently or in a team
Membership of IFE and/or IFSM

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced and driven Fire Engineer to support our growing portfolio of projects across London and the South East. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering tailored fire engineering strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and working closely with design teams, contractors, and approving authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop fire strategies for new builds and refurbishments in accordance with Building Regulations and relevant guidance (e.g. BS 9999, BS 7974, ADB).
  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Provide technical advice and support throughout design and construction phases.
  • Prepare and review fire safety documentation and reports.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of CHPK’s fire engineering processes.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Degree in Fire Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2 – 3 years proven experience in fire engineering consultancy.
  • Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and design codes.
  • Excellent communication skills and client-facing confidence.
  • Ability to manage projects independently or as part of a collaborative team.
  • Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and/or Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM).
