Qualifications

Fire Electrician

Banbury – Covering The Midlands and Birmingham

£42,847 - £45,102 per year

40 hours per week

We are looking for a qualified Fire Electrician to join our Fire and Security team, based in Banbury, covering sites across The Midlands and Birmingham.

You’ll predominately be carrying out small works / remedial works and the occasional planned preventative maintenance works when the business requires it. The role is mainly lone working.

This role is completely mobile working across Banbury; therefore, you’ll be provided with a company van and all the power and essential tools needed for the job to ensure properties are compliant and safe.

Responsibilities
  1. Carrying out fire servicing, repair and installation works in compliance with relevant regulations to ensure Sanctuary’s properties are compliant and safe.
  2. Providing accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer.
  3. Ensuring accurate daily work records are completed.
  4. Carrying out maintenance of systems including fire alarms, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting and fire shutters and curtains to ensure safe and compliant properties.
  5. Conduct remedial works and maintenance of fire and life safety systems up to 240v, this includes remedial works to Emergency Lighting.
  6. Resolve problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed in line with agreed processes and within contract.
  7. Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed.
  8. Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations.
Skills and Experiences
  1. To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to 18th Edition - 2nd Amendment, BS5839-1, NICEIC Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems Unit 1, NICEIC Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems Unit 5, NICEIC Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems Unit 6, Initial Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing 2391, NVQ Level 3 in Core Electrics, BS5839-6 or currently undertaking the qualification. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
  2. Proven experience of undertaking a similar role.
  3. Experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions.
  4. Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills.
  6. Working knowledge of fire safety issues.
  7. Good communication skills.
  8. This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
