Job summary

Build Recruitment is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to lead the Passive Fire Protection and Fire Door divisions across London and the South East. You will oversee multiple projects, guide Contracts Managers and site teams, and drive profitability and compliance.

Sitting between senior leadership and delivery, you will shape strategy, monitor performance, and embed quality standards while developing your team and delivering projects on time and to budget.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing multiple Passive Fire Protection and/or Fire Door projects.
• Strong knowledge of passive fire protection systems and fire door compliance.
• Experience leading and developing operational teams.
• Understanding of Building Safety Act, Building Regulations and Golden Thread.
• Strong commercial mindset with project profitability management.
• Budgets, forecasts, cost reporting and variations experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of the Passive Fire Protection & Fire Door divisions.

• Embed Building Safety Act, Golden Thread, and culture of competence and accountability.
• Manage key client, consultant, principal contractor and supply-chain relationships.
• Supporting tenders, bid reviews and value-engineering opportunities.
• Develop departmental KPIs, processes and reporting systems.
• Support senior leadership with operational reporting and strategic business planning.

THE ROLE

Our client is looking for a Contracts/ Senior Contracts Manager to take a leading role across their Passive Fire Protection and Fire Door divisions, overseeing multiple projects and providing direction to Contracts Managers, Project Managers, Supervisors and Operatives.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Leading the day-to-day operation of the Passive Fire Protection & Fire Door divisions

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone who can combine technical knowledge, commercial awareness and genuine leadership ability.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience managing multiple Passive Fire Protection and/or Fire Door projects
• Strong knowledge of passive fire protection systems and fire door compliance
• Experience leading and developing operational teams
• Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations and Golden Thread
• A strong commercial mindset with experience managing project profitability
• Experience with budgets, forecasts, cost reporting and variations
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable: SMSTS, IOSH/NEBOSH, CSCS, FIRAS/FDIS/IFC experience and knowledge of OneTrace or similar quality-management systems.
