Job summary

InVision Group is seeking an experienced Fire Door Surveyor to support ongoing Midlands projects and travel across the North from Manchester to Scotland. You will conduct fire door surveys, assess compliance and identify remedial works, reporting findings to project teams.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, BORIS use, and familiarity with FIRAS standards. A flexible attitude to travel and strong attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out fire door surveys and inspections.
• FIRAS accreditation or experience with FIRAS standards is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
• Strong knowledge of fire door components, installation standards, defects and remedial requirements.
• Experience using BORIS.
• Excellent reporting and attention to detail.
• Understanding of fire door regulations and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fire door surveys and inspections across properties.
• Assess fire doors against standards and compliance.

• Produce accurate survey reports with recommendations.
• Record survey findings in BORIS and maintain records.

Job description

The Opportunity

An established fire protection contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Fire Door Surveyor to support its ongoing projects throughout the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically competent surveyor with experience in fire door inspections, defect identification and remedial specifications to join an established operation, with a competitive salary and comprehensive travel benefits. A flexible attitude towards travel is essential. The successful candidate must be comfortable travelling extensively between sites across the region, adapting to project requirements and managing a varied geographical workload.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct fire door surveys and inspections across commercial and residential properties.
• Assess existing fire doors against relevant standards, specifications and compliance requirements.
• Identify defects, installation issues and remedial works required.
• Produce accurate survey reports, documenting findings and recommended remedial actions.
• Use BORIS to record survey findings and maintain accurate project records.
• Liaise with clients, site teams and project managers regarding survey outcomes and remedial requirements.
• Ensure inspections and reports are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Travel throughout the North, covering Manchester to Scotland, as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience carrying out fire door surveys and inspections.
• Exposure to FIRAS and BM Trada (preferred)
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
• A flexible, proactive attitude towards travel and changing project requirements.
• Good knowledge of fire door components, installation standards, defects and remedial requirements.
• Experience using BORIS.
• Strong reporting skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of relevant fire door regulations and compliance standards.
• FIRAS accreditation or experience working to FIRAS standards is highly desirable.

Salary & Benefits

• £41,000-£44,600 basic salary, depending on experience.
