Job summary

PSR Solutions is seeking experienced Fire Door Installers to support compliant installations, maintenance and remedial works across commercial and residential sites in the Eastbourne area. You will install FD30/FD60 fire doorsets, frames, and ironmongery following manufacturer specs and third‑party test evidence.

Applicants should hold NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent site experience), with strong knowledge of current UK regulations and BM Trada or Firas qualifications.

Qualifications

• Specialist experience in installing FD30/FD60 fire doorsets, frames and ironmongery as per spec and tests.
• Knowledge of current UK fire door regulations and BS 8214 standards.
• Ability to perform remedial works following risk assessments and reports.

Responsibilities

• Compliant installation of fire doorsets, frames and ironmongery to manufacturer specs.
• Maintain tolerances on door leaves, gaps (2–4 mm) and correct sealing.
• Carry out remedial work on existing doors per risk assessments.

Job description

PSR are seeking experienced Fire Door Installers with a strong background in passive fire protection to handle compliant installations, maintenance, and remedial works across commercial and residential sites in the Eastbourne area.

Key Responsibilities

• Compliant Installation: Install FD30 and FD60 fire doorsets, frames, and ironmongery strictly in line with manufacturer specifications and third-party test evidence.
• Gap and Seal Management: Maintain precise tolerances on door leaves, gaps (2-4mm), and correct fitting of intumescent strips and cold smoke seals.
• Remedial Works: Carry out defect corrections on existing doors following fire risk assessments and inspection reports.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven track record in specialized fire door installation-this is a compliance-critical role, not general carpentry.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent demonstrable site experience).
• Deep working knowledge of current UK fire door regulations, British Standards (e.g., BS 8214), and passive fire safety protocols.
• Manual Handling, Working Heights, Asbestos Awareness, CSCS Card.
• BM Trada, Firas Qualification
