Job summary

Example Recruitment Group is seeking skilled Fire Door Fitters / Installers for commercial projects in Walsall. The role involves installing, repairing and maintaining fire-rated doors across offices, schools, hospitals and industrial sites.

The successful candidate will install FD30/FD60 door sets, frames, linings and associated components, ensuring quality, safety and regulatory compliance. CSCS access is required and own tools may be needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience installing, maintaining or repairing fire-rated doors.
• Strong carpentry or joinery background.
• Experience on commercial construction, refurbishment or maintenance projects.
• Good understanding of fire door installation requirements.
• Ability to work independently and maintain high workmanship standards.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Appropriate CSCS card for site access, where required.
• Own tools where required by the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Installing FD30, FD60 and other fire-rated door sets.
• Installing and replacing fire door frames, linings and components.
• Carrying out fire door repairs, maintenance and remedial works.
• Installing intumescent strips, smoke seals, hinges, closers, locks and ironmongery.
• Ensuring correct door gaps, clearances and installation tolerances.
• Identifying defects and completing remedial works.
• Working with manufacturers' installation instructions and fire safety standards.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and installation specifications.
• Maintaining accurate records of completed works.
• Ensuring all installations meet quality and safety standards.
• Working independently or with other passive fire protection operatives.
