A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Fire Door Inspector to join Charnwood Borough Council's Compliance Team. Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of fire door compliance and building construction elements.

  • Effective communicator, able to liaise confidently with colleagues, residents, and stakeholders.

  • Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety policies.
  • Support wider Compliance team initiatives.

Overview

Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Door Inspector to work with Charnwood Borough Council's Compliance Team. This is a temporary contract initially for 3-6 months with a view to extend. This is a key role ensuring the safety and compliance of council properties in line with current fire safety regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct fire door inspections across council properties, ensuring compliance with Fire Safety Regulations.
  • Record inspection data accurately using monitoring systems.
  • Carry out minor fire door repairs, or escalate further works where required.
  • Liaise with residents to arrange access and inspections.
  • Maintain office and site records in line with statutory requirements.
  • Prepare monthly compliance reports for management.
  • Assist in data collection for asset surveys and other compliance-related projects.
  • Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety, equality, diversity, and inclusion policies.
  • Support wider Compliance team initiatives, including IT and customer service projects.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of fire door compliance and building construction elements.
  • Ability to complete fire door repairs to meet current regulations.
