Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Fire Door Inspector to ensure the safety and compliance of fire doors in buildings. The role involves inspection, maintenance oversight, and documentation to minimize fire risks and enhance safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Regular Inspections: Perform routine checks on fire doors to ensure they meet safety standards and comply with local building codes and fire regulations.
  • Assess Condition: Examine the overall condition of fire doors, including structural integrity, alignment, and operation.
  • Check Components: Inspect door components such as frames, hinges, seals, latches, and glazing to ensure proper functioning and regulatory compliance.
  • Smoke Seals and Intumescent Strips: Inspect for damage or wear, ensuring they can expand properly in a fire scenario.
  • Maintain Records: Document inspection results, maintenance schedules, and non-compliance issues in detailed logs.

Qualifications:

  • A recognised UK Spec Engineering Degree in Fire Engineering / Fire Safety or higher-level engineering qualification with demonstrable career fire engineering industry training and delivery.
  • Certificated training via UK accredited Fire Door Training Scheme providers, such as FDIS Diploma in Fire Doors, OFQUAL - FireQual Level 3 Award in Fundamentals of Fire Door Inspection, or FPA Level 3 Award in Fire Door Inspection.
  • Working knowledge of UK regulatory standards.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in the UK Fire & Construction Industry, particularly in design, specification, installation, commissioning, lifecycle maintenance, and remediation of Fire Door Assemblies.
